My Story

Hello, I am Sue Summers a registered dietitian specialising in Paediatrics. I am passionate about helping parents overcome their child’s food challenges having personally experienced feeding difficulties with my own children.

As I qualified in BSc Hons Nutrition and Dietetics in 2005, I am registered with the Health Care Professionals Council and member of the British Dietetic Association. I have worked in a variety of hospitals and community settings in the West Midlands and overseas with both children and adults.

My passion for paediatrics grew from developing my knowledge in adult diabetes and expanding to paediatrics. where I found the longstanding relationships with children and their families enjoyable and rewarding. 10 years on, I have moved through the areas of paediatric dietetics covering multiple allergies and all feeding difficulties from oral to enteral feeding with premature infancy to teens.

I understand often restoring your child’s eating and nutritional status isn’t just about treating an illness or condition. Helping parents overcome feeding difficulties is unique to each child. As parents we all have different priorities, family values, cultures and beliefs.

My experience in diverse areas of work has helped me gain an understanding of what is important to parents. I work through your priorities with a non- judgemental approach to provide you with assurance, help and advice.

My Reassurance is that safety is of the upmost importance when it comes to children. Following evidenced based guidelines, strict boundaries from my professional body and code of conduct I will never go beyond my knowledge of expertise. Information is treated with strict confidentially and (GDRP) compliance.

My experience and training includes : Allergies, diabetes, autism, neonatal nutrition, avoidance restrictive eating, and nutrition support. I am a certified medical expert witness with Inspire Medilaw.
